Lousy am I in understanding how many bichirs I can stick into a 50 gallon. Will a tank with a shoal of angelfish, two ropes, a delhezi and a palmas be too crowded?

Do away with the angelfish and 1 Rope & u'll be fine

Your 50gal tank is too crowded with all those fishes that are in your collection. If you want an all bichir tank, just remove the angel fishes and retain all your medium sized bichirs and they will be fine in your 50gal tank.Just do your regular weekly partial water changes and do not over feed your bichirs.:tropicalf:tropicalf:tropicalf

here is what I would do in a 50g long tank: 1 sen, 1 del, 1 palmas poly, and a decent filter.

Darn, unfortunately I already have 2 angelfish and 2 ropes. How should I go about making a compromise to that? Like...any fish I can possibly add to make the aquarium look better?

Not quite the point actually. Guess I'll just have to stick to just the angelfish and ropes. Thanks all.

^ add a sen. Is this a 48x13x24?

In my 55 I have 2 sen's, 2 pictus cats & an ABK, they aren't full grown yet but I don't anticipate overcrowding issues in the future. I think with 2 angels & 2 ropes you could do either the sen or the delhezi (they're a 10-13" species right?) or maybe a palmas.

If you're just looking to add more life to the tank you could look into other dithers (not sure what would survive the ropes & not nip the angels though) or small catfish (pictus, striped raphael, african feather-fin etc etc)

You've still got some possibilities :)
