swap the skimmer where you have your bio and replace the second bubble trap with just 1 simple baffle and that will make things easier. You will not need 2 bubble traps etc. They are a pita to silicone also.

how much live rock do you have? you should not need any bio in the sump if you have enough rock in the display tank to handle the bio. If you do not have any rock, then bioballs like your pic are good. :D

If you have enough rock, I would turn that large middle section into a refuge with a 4" sand bed and and grow chaeto algae or something with a cheap shop light down there. You could also put your heaters, pantiehose with 2 cups activated carbon, banished fish/injured fish there also :D

refugium sump it is, i found a layout online that i like when i have time i will put it up and see what u think.

thanx alot BigCounrty u and wigglehave been a huge help in my adventure with all my threads i have joined anouther forum but there is no help like good old MFK

No problem bro.

Yeah refuge is where it's at. I just used mine last night to house a star fish that was getting his ass handed to him by my trigger, puffer and a posse of hermit crabs...lol

plain but works i guess. does the size (length-width) matter at all is the bigger the better??? i am going to get as much live rock as i can i might start with more base rock and put 20 or so pounds of live rock to cycle the tank. for the light on the sump how long does it stay on??? can i use LED???
