I currently pulled all my resources together,
sold a cpl of my tanks and now i have my 180 gallon.
Which houses my 11" rtc. My questin is, i gave away my
mated dovii pair to a friend, and he just wants to
keep the female, and give me back the male.
He is currently approx 14". Will the rtc be ok with the male dovii?

yeah an rtc is a pond waiting to happen or a mistreated fish, remember a 180 is only 2 feet wide, granted it takes along time for them to get sumo sized but they do grow stupid fast , 10 more months with proper feeding max and your rtc is too big,

regarding a dovii and rtc, do you dislike your rtc? because this seems like a good way to end badly,
i wouldnt recommend it

that being said , its your fish .... do what you will..

I really don't know why places even sell RTCs they don't make good pets unless you have a nice warm pond year round

rtc's sweetest catfish ever, i used to hand feed mine rainbow trout, such a big fat head, he now lives at my buddies house in a tropical pond, with some monster shovelnose.
