Will this work?

What am I looking at? It looks like it's a small plastic bottle with the bottom cut out. The cap has a hole cut in it to let an airline in and some gravel for the media and a sponge at the bottom to let water in.? Am I seeing this right? Is the idea that the bubbles rising up will fluidize the gravel? If so I think for the low flow that your going to get out of this you'll need lighter density media. I don't think it will manage to lift the gavel into the water column. Another potential problem I see is that as the neck of the bottle gets narrower the flow rate will rise carrying the media to the top and blocking it. You actually want to narrow end at the bottom to have to strongest water movement there to get the media moving more easily.
If it's managing to keep the gravel fluidized, great. But if not you may want to think about turning it upside down and using something with a lower density than gravel for the media, maybe some sort of plastic beads.

it is a fuze bottle haha and i added a tube running down to the sponge acting as a vac..inside the bottle, replaced gravel with pot scrubees:) drilled holes in tube coming from spongebetween sponge and media, drilled holes in the bottle at the same level,
