me getting my 8x2x2 is getting closer, I have read you have to have 3 together, Do I have to if I have other fish that already take pellets, I am wanting a smaller variety to go with an Oscar, Jack Dempsey, a Red Pike and a few bottom dwelling fish would that foot print and shared stock be alright

A 2ft wide tank is pushing it imo. I would definitely go with the "smaller" sp of cichla. Maybe someone else can chime in, but I believe Kelberi don't get as large as some others like Temensis. Depending on size, the Dempsey may not work. If it's big it may try to bully the bass and if it's smaller it may end up on the menu.

Sounds like a nice setup. Keeping bass together in groups is really worth it. When together they seem allot happier and feed off each others energy. When separate they just seem like another fish in the tank. My jack pushes them around sometime and they push him sometimes but he is fill grown

I love peacocks and my lfs has some in, actually looks like the Kels, but I have the other fish already so the 240 will be a permanent home for em, thanks for info though, back to the researching
