Okay.... In the Past couple of years from time to time i've had fish die for no reason and just a few days ago... my Gourami started to have these little whitish pimples growing on him, so i thought maybe setting up a UV would help kill and get rid of the whitish pimples and prevent it from catching onto my other fishes. Will this help my situation??
Oh... and i have a few more questions, is there any bad side effects with using a uv? like kills benificial bateria, or dilute the aquarium salt that is added etc? Is it recommended to leave the UV light on all the time? or should it be turned on and off? Hopefully people that have or are still using the UV's can help answer my questions... Thanks ahead!:)

i have run a uv light on my 125 for about a year and just switched it to my 300 but have never herd or seen any side effects.
uv kills free floating bacteria, not the bb in your filter.
salt can only be reduced by doing water changes, it does not evaporate

oh yeah your first question. take some pics and post them so some one can determin what it is

no bad effects from uv

dont run them when you cycle a new tank

some meds ask that they be turned off so the dont break down the medication

can only help current problem....wont cure a sick fish may help limit the spread of diseases
