Depends how deep you want to go into the hobby. I've seen 12"+ FH in the 35x15x16 tank dimensions living just fine and very healthy.

I think they need a 75 gallon. 48x18x21

ok cool i do weekly 50% water changes and have a nice filtration system on the tank so i should be fine Thanks for the help

he will outgrow the tank . . . sooner than you might think . . .

I think 55-75g should be ok as long as it is not a community or divided tank..they tend to grow the best in their own tanks.
