Nope
I was just reading a thread about a guy that resealed his aquarium, and had a real hard time cleaning up the silicone. Windex works great, i'm a commercial plumber and when ever I silicone anything I use windex to mak it a nice clean seam (an old industry trick). It will clean silicone off of any smooth surface as good as water cleans up latex painters caulk. Anyway hope this helps someone.

It's probably just me, but I don't trust chemicals near my tank or a tank that will have fish in it. I use either a water bottle with plain water or water mixed with some lemon juice. I don't even use Windex, etc. in my house. I use water with lemon juice on my counters, tables, etc. Even the outside of my tank.

I remember my buddies GF cleaned the outside of his 125 which was full of fish, she thought she clean them because of the water spots, well several hours later, my buddy came home to almost a tank full of dead fish because of the Windex.

I find a razor blades will remove the silicone just fine on glass surfaces, on acrylic you have to be careful not to dig into the acrylic.

I'm sure there are folks here that use it and never had a problem but I don't want to experiment with it. That's just my 2 cents :)

I'm talking about when the tank is empty. You would have to clean it out before filling it with the water you would keep your fish in. I think it has something to do with the ammonia that cleans it so well but i'm not sure.
