My heater conked out I lost my little knife. I had to move the marbled gobies and the oscar in with the remaining knife and the jack dempsey. Suprise they seem to be getting along okay.

150 gallons:
1 12" clown knife
1 8" JD
1 6" Oscar
2 6" Marbled goby

I was going to build an 8x10 tank for these guys but since I moved I'm going to have to pull in a shed and make a fish house. If I'm going through that much trouble I may as well build a 10x10 and a 10x5 tank. Should I keep all these guys together? Who would you stick where and what would you add if anything?

IMO separate the clownknife(own tank) keep the O/jd/goby together add your choice of fish ... maybe find another knife fish as a tankmate or even arowana.. the shed thing sound's ok but are the winter's bad by you??? if so have the slab be an extention from your existing foundation , this will make heating the building much safer(it my have raidiant /base board heat or forced hot air.) and those long winter month's much more enjoyable in the "fish house''... good luck how ever you go with it...

I'm going to need cooling too.

The worst it gets here is about 10f for week in the dead of winter. The thing that I have to be conscientious of is the temperature swings. Right now it gets 80 in the day but 30 at night.

The fish house will have to be it's own building though. I'm eventually going to be in a trailer (right now it's an overgrown fish house) so there's no slab.

I can tell you for sure I don't want baseboard heating. It's bad enough how often I've burned myself on that type of heating....I have three dogs and it wouldn't be safe for them to go in there in the winter then (they like following me I can't say no lol).
