I want to eat the fish and idk what to fish for and what bait too use? any ideas? try to keep the type of fish below 30 lbs.

man that is a very broad question... pompano are biting down there i believe but ur best bet is to find a florida specific fishing forum and ask there, lot to learn about reading the surf for good places to fish otherwise ur just pissing in the wind hoping u cast in a good spot
We need a specific area. I know right now in the panhandle you will get whiting and maybe if your lucky a redfish. If you head out on the piers you could get in on the winter bonito bite, but don't go heading down the pier with a 14 foot surf rod though or you'll get a bunch of funny looks.
Yeah, we will need to know where youll be fishing. The fishing on the Emerald Coast is different then the fishing on the Gold Coast.
