Hey, just wondering if anyone has turtles in with their koi in their pond and has every wintered a turtle. Im living in toronto so the pond has just frozen over but wont freeze completely to the bottom. The turtle is in their now, just wondering if anyone has done this before and is there anything i should do like put in a bubbler or even a small heater. Thanks!

I believe you should give them an opening so if they ever had to come to the surface they can. But I believe as long as they have a lay of substrate to bury in they should be fine.
Are they adults? Pet stores sell wild caught and captive breed. Wild will do fine captive may have never hibernated hence they will die. How deep is your pond? My friend in upstate new York has a one acre pond 5 ft deep. He has lost his bass several years in a row until he bought an aerator which prevented total freezing. So he says and he gets major snow comparable to Toronto. 100% survival now but that's bass.
