I have no Idea what happend, I was doing a water change using buckets. I added prime to each bucket, dumped it in the tank. I was done and cleaning up water drops, I check the temp it was 81 verus the normal 80.

Then all a sudden my beloved Red Tail shark jump bashed his head into the tank top, then did it again. Now he is just floating side ways about half way tot he top. He's not dead he is just swimming enough to stay in one spot.

All the other fish are fine, I have no idea what could have spooked him like that, I wasn't even touching the tank or the stand yet.

that sucks, ive had that happen mine didnt make it. ive had fish just go crazy for no apparent reason. good luck with that, sounds like he has injuries though.

Its even worse now, he is laying on the bottom of the tank, with the gills moving 100mph, I checked the other fish again, they dont look to be doing bad.

Sorry to hear. Hope it pulls out of it. One crappy part of the hobby is losses. There are other crappy parts, but losses are the worst.

its sound like he got internal injuries from hitting the lid. :( doesnt sound good. as to what spooked him who knows.

have you checked your water parameters? id do so just to see if something is off.. best of luck to the guy-he seems to be having a hard time.

Today he seems better, he is swimming around breathing better. I'll hope for the best, thanks for all your support.

I don't think its water issue all my other tanks seem ok, I think he just got spooked and knocked him self silly.

yeah he knocked himself good, glad to see it wasnt too bad. i had a molly do that and was bleeding from its skull ouch!

glad hes doing better...could have just been he had knocked himself out lol, no vodka in the tank? lol
