Okay so this is my first time keeping a proper tropical temperature tank. The only time I even came close was a subtropical tank that I kept around 75F
Well I recently bought this Kirin Parrot, but once I got him his colors faded after a few days, and he was awfully slow to hit pellets. I couldn't figure out why! After all he's a parrot hybrid, so I assumed that he would do fine at the same temperatures I always kept my parrots.
One of my new fish got ich, so of course I started the heat-and-salt method, and turned the temp higher to a little over 80f.
Suddenly the little guy has his colors back, and can't stuff the pellets down fast enough. I was worried for like a week because he was too cold.
