First and foremost - 90% of Matas brought in are Male........
2nd, I wouldn't sell a mature Female for anything less than $500.......Demand outweighs supply by far
And you're crazy if you think your going to find an Adult Mata in decent condition. They're all going to have shell burns, missing claws, chins rubbed raw, and everything else that comes with it. They're all rough.......The last Matas I brought in were really decent compared to what I usually get, but I was also guaranteed 7 Females and got 7 Males..........If you find a long term captive, don't be surprised at the asking price. That may not be what you want to hear, but the truth is the truth.......
Personally, that last group was the last I'll ever bring out of Guyana again.........
You also need DEEP water to breed Matas......The 2 or 3 people that have done it, did it in ponds.......Its not something that can be done in a stock tank, as many have tried, and miserably failed........Including me.......
