Woke up to some random guy in our house?!?!

So just thought I'd share a little story about my morning....

My boyfriend and I both have to work this morning so we go to bed pretty early last night, about 10 or 11pm. My boyfriends alarm goes off this morning and he hits the snooze (as usual ) and about half awake half asleep he hears some guy mumbling. He thinks "what the hell is that" goes out in our living room and there is some 40ish year old dude sleeping on our couch. He wakes me up, grabs the shotgun, and goes out there and says "alright, time to wake up and get the **** OUT!" The guy wakes up (our house now smelling like booze) and is obviously drunk. He said "his friend dropped him off here" This guy wouldn't leave! He said he was going to use the bathroom first and we are like "hell no you aren't" lol, you're going to leave! We call the cops and then he realizes he probably should leave. The cops get here, they go find him and arrest him because of another warrant (DUI).

He must have come through the window that we left open because we are sure we locked the door. I'm just still amazed because this guy could have killed us! What if he had waken up before us? What would he have done? Wandered around our house? Stolen valuables? We are not going to press charges because he was pretty harmless. There is a bar right down the street so my guess is he wandered from there. Was it wrong for my boyfriend to pull a gun on this guy?!

What a weird situation huh? What would you guys do if you woke up and there was a strange drunk man sleeping on your couch?!

holy crap thats scary!!!! this guy would have woken up with a few slugs in him (actually, he wouldnt have woken up ). must say you guys handled that more calmly than i would have! thats why i make sure everything is locked before i go to bed

I totally agree with you J anyone I do not care who they are breaks into my house would be Leaving on a stretcher at the very least.

I think you def did the right thing.

In key west recently there were a few cases where people break in and steal things claiming they are drunk and went into the wrong house. They take small items like cash and jewelry and leave the purse/wallet. If approached they act drunk and stumble out.

I agree and id get my gu,DAMN we cant have guns
but he would be shown the door as he flew through it

My fiancé's parents had a similar but more disturbing instance. Same deal, early morning and her mom wakes up and goes to shower. While she's in the shower a complete stranger comes into the house and climbs into bed with her dad. When her mom comes out of the shower she sees this random guy sleeping in the bed with her husband. She freaked out then he freaked out, cops were called. The guy couldn't figure out who he was or why this wasn't his house.

Turned out the guy had dementia. But that's gotta be up there with the worst wakeups ever!
