So I mixed a hoplias curupira with 10 Pbass and a stingray. He behaved for a month, then he bit the pec fin of a 13" azul. My guess is the azul was F-ing with him but the one with teeth wins. anyway I really wanted him in the 600 gallon but I sleep better knowing he can't lay waste to a couple grand overnight. oh yes I specifically kept him super full with shrimp and stuff. he didn't attack for hunger but personal space.

The most unnerving thing was he would stay mellow with the lights on and then I would turn the lights off and he would spring up and swim around while all the bass would hunker down. To coin Jelly, "beelzebub" indeed!

what a shyst!! Based on your tank I have put my Curupira in one of my comms......

That has supprised me. I would have put a fare chunk of cash on that working out. Have you actually seen the wolf do it?

I am a year into my curupira comm. No problems apart for other wolves that I tried again a couple of days ago with no success.

Well its like this, sorry for the Beelzebub misappropriation Myneerspint. That was some funny stuff. And there is only one toothy character in my 600, said wolfy. Frankly, it sucks. Really liked him in the tank, he hung with my big ray it was really cool. But I have seen Pbass rip on each other and it doesn't do the damage Capt CuruCrunch laid out.

That said it wasn't a mortal wound so I could call it a fluke but with the stock in the tank being big$$$$$$, I am just not willing to see a 300 fish get a facelift/removal.

Did I mention I put in a 8" pond goldfish to test the waters with the bass and such. Nothing ate it right away but the next morning the headless body was floating at the top. BEELZEBUB visited that night...anyway the aimara enjoyed his breakfast the following day.

Lastly, these wolfy bastards surely react well to a big tank, super mobile and he grew to 15" in there pretty quick.

Curupira can be time bombs just waiting to deal out damage. I also have noticed that my wolf gets a little frisky and just literally goes around snapping at the glass....yeah. Well did you have another tank for him?

Oh yeah. I run a decent two tank MASH unit. So he sits next to his cousin Capt Adolf Aimara. Seperated of course.

Photos of your adolf please.

Ha no worries. I definately understand you're worries but I may have given the big fella another chance. I must say that I was expecting the ray to be the casualty, though.

Maybe I should try a ray!

Glad mine is a mal wolf fish. I hope mine is more even tempered. My 240 (crosses fingers) will have him and i hope a ray (crosses toes) he WAS in a 55 with a dempsey, but i sold the 55 so he went down to a 15-20 gal toot.
