- hiding.
I’ve had a H. Curupira for about a year and i barely ever glimpse it. I’ve always given my fish places to hide, it it sucks never seeing my fish, and due to his reticent nature, I haven’t been able to train it to eat not live food. I see a lot of people keep wolf fish in bare tanks but I can’t help but feel that is cruel to the fish. How do other keepers deal with this.

How big is the wolf? Should be bold when it’s large enough and over 12inches. Seen some keep their wolves in scaped tanks.

It is young (5 inches).
I have a plecostomus in the tank with it. I've debated moving it to a community tank but have not so far. I have a red wolf in a community tank but im more concerned about the curupira being aggressive.

Let it put on some size and it should change. Yea that red wolf would get tore up.

Try putting in some cheap and active dither fish. Giant Danios, BA tetras, or something that you won't be upset when he starts eating them. BTW, what size tank are you housing him in?

in reference to my previous post, I meant keeping the black wolf in a community rank, not with another wolf fish. It’s currently in a 40 gal with lots of plants and some caves. I’m worried that the wolf might kill tankmates, but I guess Ill just have to take the plunge.
