The guy said it was rough to get him out of a tank. A lot of banging. Now he can only surf on the bottom.

What seem to be broken?20150714_115341.jpg

Stresses? :) I don't see problem there!
From the bottom glass reflection, there is something wrong with the fish anus? is it sick?

Fish looks like it has some type of rectal inflammation or prolapse. What "guy" are you talking about? How long have you had the fish? Have you tested your water parameters?

A "guy" whom I have been trading fishes with, he bought some fishes from someone when he tried to get it out. The fish swam fast n banging to some decors. He told me it was rough trying to get him.
When he came to my house to get some more fishes, I saw the fish was in his side dying. So he gave it to me.

I had him for few days. The tank has been running almost 2 years.

He is eating, swim up to get pellets, just can't stay afloat.

dovi are very sensitive fish when it comes to moving them . My suggestion is to add some salt . Keep the lights out put some dark background on that tank. Also if you can treat for parasites . Once they get stressed parasites do ravage their systems . Maybe try feeding him 3 % EPSOM salt soaked pellets since he is still eating . Sit in front of the tank a foot or so back quite often once you throw the food in so he gets used to you. and lots of water changes. They are Extremely sensitive to new surroundings at this size ! Give him time but in this case also treat for parasites .
