hey guys
just picked up some new fish today
ive been eye balling a wolf fish for awhile now so i decided to get one
along with a baby pbdass and an armatus
will this work?
the pbass is mabey a cm smaller than the wolf fish
and the armatus is about the same size as the wolf fish
i have a few hiding spots and lots of feeders in the tank to reduce agression
should i just take out the wolf?
ive never had one and am curious

My wolf has killed all tank mates I tried with him. I wouldn't do it but some people have had success.

It will probably come down to tank size, etc..

you picked up a 1.5-2 inch armatus?
care to share pics? :)

it should work at this size.
what species is the pbass?
the pbass/wolf combo SHOULD work for a while because they grow about the same rate.
also,i would suggest having MORE fish in the tank instead of just this three.
this way the wolf is used to living with tankmates and doesnt form territories which he wont share.
the "armatus"....i say get pics first.
it might turn out a tat or scomb, both of which will not be able to compete with any wolf or pbass in terms of growth.

turns out its a scomb
the wolf fish ate my baby pbass the second night they were together
so i gave the wolf to my friend
and got another scomb
il post pics

As you've all ready found out they don't mix we'll with others to say the least once you get past finding tankmates the right size so there not food, aggression turns into a problem but still some people are able to pull it off in large tanks with lots of large tankmates

It would seem that they have to be mixed like aggressive cichlids put a wolf with 2 or 3 fish and they get killed but put it with 20 other fish and the confusion of so many fish moveing around and the lack or territories seems to lessen the aggression of wolffish and other large aggressive fish

Sorry for ur loss.....wolves can be tricky sometimes....even though some may not be aggressive...if by chance they ever do get mad or hungry, they have the tools to certainly injure/kill another fish quickly.

the wolf fish was about an inch and the scomb is about 1.5 inches
i went back to the store and got another scomb for 10 bucks
it is missing an eye and is a little beat up
but eats more than my healthy scomb
these fish are so neat
