Over the rainbow
I switched my wolf fish's diet into market shrimp and for the first week he munched on it no problem. But after one particular water change my wolf fish doesnt eat anyhting. It has been about a week and a half and he hasn't even looked at feeder gold fish. Whats wrong!? The water change i did had no affect on any other fishes. Whats going on?

sometimes wolves do that.
after a water change especially.
your water params are all fine correct?
hes just fasting himself a bit.
they tend to do that.

lol...yea man. believe c-rox when he tells u abt wolves....expert. haha

Howdy,

No worries. Wolves are sometimes on a hunger strike for no reason, and then eat again for no reason. Longest mine once refused to eat was 3 months ...

My Wolf has just started fasting for the second time. It seems to be triggered when i move things in her tank, last time she snapped out of it after 2 weeks. It has only been 1 week with this "fast" so far.

Any ideas anyone on why they do this? Stress? maybe to concentrate on growing?!

ur wolf refused to eat for 3 months and it still alive?
mine's been a month, it still doesn't accept shrimps
eventhough i starve him, 3 days later shrimp in the
tank decayed.

its no big deal, when u do a waterchange or move stuff around in the tank it can be a bit stressful for the wolves and they will do this from time to time. as long as ur water parameters are ok and the fish is healthy it will be perfectly fine. healthy fish WILL NOT starve themselves so he will eat when he's ready, its nothing you are doing wrong. fish can go much longer without eating than me and you put together.

ummm.....you should remove what your wolf does not eat after about 20-30min, otherwise it will decay and mess ur water parameters up. if the wolf hasnt eaten it in that time period, remove it, and try again later.

:iagree:

Try offering him shrimp twice a week and keep it up. My wolf was still not slender after those 3 months...

letting a wolf starve itself WHEN ITS ALREADY HEALTHY is fine.
but starving a wolf ON PURPOSE WHILE ITS SKINNY is NOT fine.;)
and leaving food to decay in the tank IS NOT fine either.
