Hello,
Ex Lurker With a question,
Recently Purchsed A Mala or wolf fish and Placed him in A 75 gallon Tank Which housed my 2 oscars prior to moving them to my pond. The wolf Had a small injury to the mouth before purchased from scraping with the pet shop tank mates. Seems He likes to try and jump out and i noticed another injury to the top of his mouth this morning from trying to jump out. he now has 2 injurys one to the top and one to the bottom of his mouth. What can i do to keep him from further injury.
using a aquaclear 70 and a magnum 350 deluxe for filtration and 1 airstone to oxygenate the water. bare bottom tank to pick up uneaten foods right away.ammonia and nitrites read at 0 ppm. my normal maintenance procedure with all tanks is a 35/40% water change once a week. Hoplias mala is my first of the species and would like it to be a successful endevour. unfortunatley on the internet at least i have not found any in depth care information and faqs on the species aside from the very basic immediate needs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thank you,
rai
