Mala or something else?

Sincere thanks in advance.

I use to go by the stripes in the body. But i can no longer remember what to look for because it has been a while since I had one.

Took a pic of it settling down in the tank. The bigger one chased him for awhile but no aggression shown by other fishes.

Has darker shade of color than the other mala. Will be interesting to grow them out and make comparisons down the road.

Hope he can make it.

Two wolves in the woods. I misjudged the new purchase size - was thinking it won't differ too much. Hope I won't be punished for it.

Mala.
