I awoke this morning to find my 15 in. wolf fish had jumped out of the tank and everything inside of the tank had been moved around. I found him a few feet away from the tank on the floor so I got him in a net and placed him back in to the tank. He had a small cut on the side of his face but that was about it. However, it appears as though he has suffered some internal damage because the scales on his stomach are slightly red and so are his fins as though there is blood leaking around from the inside. Right now he is floating upside down inside of the tank. He is still breathing though. This is very upsetting and hard for me right now. I dont think he is going to make it but if anyone could provide some tips that would be great :( Should I just place him in the freezer to speed up the death.?

try increasing aeration if possible to help breathing.

keep the water warm and keep the tank dark to keep his stress down thats all i can really think of

That really sucks.. I don't have any advice aside from what's already been said but I really hate to hear this.

thx for the support everyone...I'll turn the lights off and try to let some o2 into the tank by opening up the areation tubes that are on the power heads :( very sad day

He is still breathing nearly 5 hours later. However, he is still upside down. Does anyone know the reason for this..does he have too much air in his stomach from being outside of the tank for so long? I just cant seem to get him to flip over right side up. As soon as I flip him over he flips back upside down as soon as I let him go :(

Might be like you said internal damage done during jump. Increase your tank's temp to 87F, and also put some salt in the tank.

Sorry to hear about what happened to your fish too.

I dont know if I would do that just yet, that might at too much stress at once...
