Over the rainbow
Well its been a couple of months since my 125 gallon broke and i moved my three wolves to my quarantine 55 gallon tank. As crazy as it might seem its been about two months now and my three wolves are doing great without problem in my 55 gallon. I recently noticed two of my wolves sharing the same cave however. They are side by side and show no aggression whatsoever. At first I really didn;'t think of it but its been a couple of weeks and seem to be comfortable by each other. However when the other wolf comes by, on occasion there is gill flairing. The two wolves that are together are a 7 incher and 5 incher, and the third one is a 7 incher also.

Is it possible my wolves are pairing up?

O and another question i was jsut curious about. Is it possible to keep a wolf with a school of small tetras of some sort when they get bigger? Please state what size the wolf should be and type of schooling fish, etc

certainly sounds like typical cichlid pairing behavior . . .

I don't keep wolves, but I don't know of any fish you can keep with 'em . . . if it's possible, someone will tell you . . .

I guess it could be possible if the tetra's were too fast to be eaten but I doubt it. Wolves are an extremely agressive predater that rely on ambush tactics. Basically, they strike at the last second and it's over before the prey even realize it. On a side note, that's awesome you've got three in the same tank. I could never seem to find more than one for sale at a time so I'm stuck with a solo mala this time around. At almost 11 inches I don't see him taking to kindly with the addition of ANY new tankmates. Maybe next time around.
