Wolf Fish Question

I just picked up two Common Wolf Fish (16" and 14"). They are pretty beat up. Their fins are ripped and have some small gashes on them. I did a small dose of Melafix today to aid the healing and it seems like some of their skin on their chins is flaking off. I do not know if they rubbed against something or if they are having a reaction. Has anyone else seen this problem with Melafix? Should I do a big water change? Thanks for your help!

Always do big water changes.. crank the heat up to around 82-84 as well.

Heat is at 82. I am more worried about them having a reaction to the melafix. Is it possible? Should I do a water change now to get some of the melafix out of there. Thanks Again!

i dunno about meds cause i never trust em...
i just add salt and keep the temp. at 86.

I agree....wolfish are hardy....salt and a raise in temp cn do wonders...good luck.....

They seem to be good this morning. I did a 30% change last night. i will add some salt today. Thanks for the help!!

just for healing.
i usually do one teaspoon for every 5 gallons.
