hey mars! welcome to MFK bud I remember you telling me about the wolf fish. i don't understand why it is too aggresive towards the gar. first time i've heard about a rainbow wolfish being so aggresive. usually the other species are meaner.

VInce!! yeah man , i hardly see him eat either.. feeders just start missing. lol. its just that one time i ran out of feeders on thurday, didnt get any till monday night.. then i saw him bite the gar in the nose and chased him around.

Whats the tank size for a full grown wolf fish? I hear anywhere from 55 gallon to 200 gallons so there isnt to reliable info. Cause iam interested in getting one later.

Tank size depends on the genus, species, and variant of the wolfish. Some kinds can be fine in a 30 gal for life, others need a 300 gal. Just depends. I believe this one is a erythrinus, so a 40 gal is sufficient.

to see the wolffish eat:
don't feed him for three days, then put the feeders in in the evening and make sure it's not too bright.
The wolfish approach their prey very slowly and thne suck'm in like noodles
I have 3 sharing a 30g with 2 JDs, 10 convicts and some other little stuff and I never saw them being aggressive. On the contrary, they are very calm and gove way to the cichlids and cats in the tank
