My common wolf has very short fins on his dorsal and tail. I was looking at other pictures and noticed most are much longer. I will get pics up shortly but is this common?

Here is a picture when I first got him. Obviously, you can see that both the tail and dorsal fin are very healthy/long. The picture I took today shows the fins have decreased greatly in length/size. :(

Btw, he is in the 90 gallon tank by himself with no other fish. I feed him shrimp, smelt, and earthworms. The temperature is 78-82F and water changes are done weekly. I have a Magnum 350 and AC 110 currently running on the tank.

Yea, I just looked up bacterial fin rot :(. It says to do a lot of water changes, so I just did a 40% water change. Any idea how often I should be doing these water changes? Any other advice? It may have been the driftwood I had in there that caused it but I'm not sure. I have it in my 150 gallon now and will be putting the pleco into that tank shortly. I'll have to see if he suffers a similar condition once introduced into the tank, if so I know the cause.

yeah thats lookin like finn rot do a few big water changes and add some salt to the tank

Ok...I'll go add some salt to the tank. When should I perform the next water change? Tomorrow or maybe Sunday, not exactly sure how often? Also, should I add more salt everytime I do a water change?

I would change 40%-50% of the tanks water atleast once a week And Yes you will have to add more salt each time you do a water change just not when toping off a tank

Crank the heat up a little too, this will speed his metabolism and cause him to heal faster. Go up to about 82-84.

Wolf fish are very very messy, I keep mine in a 50g (48x18x13) with an AC110 and AC70 for filtration and I do 50% water changes once a week.

Good luck, hope the little guy pulls through :D

I hope so too. I drove nearly 3 hours to get this fish and I would be Pissed if I lost him. Hopefully I'll notice some growth in the fins over the next couple of weeks. I'm also going to do larger water changes and add salt. Thanks guys, I'll keep you posted on the results.
