Wolf fish tail questions

So I got this malabaricus Wolf at 6 inches and it has grown quite a bit. But I noticed when I bought it it had like part of it membrane missing between an Area on it's tail. As it grows the void gets larger. I don't think it's fin rot cause there's never any white fungus looking on the edges surrounding the area. It just looks like a clean void, any ideas what it is.

Looks like something nipped at an pulled out w piece. Keep in mind ur suncat is active at night there can be squabbles with the wolf.

Keep the it water clean and it should heal up.

The sun was just added Friday and the Wolf already had it's tail like that. This tank gets a 75% water change every 4 to 5 days.

Wouldn't worry. It'll heal up fine.
