around the corner from the LFS
I have the chance to buy either 5" hi-fin red wolfs or a 7"common wolf(mala) I currently have a 96x20x24 tank with 2 FX5's and a rio2500 for water circulation current stock list is a 7" orino, 5-5" peru monos, 4" marbled pim, 7-8" spotted gar and a 5" long fin albino oscar. Current decor in the tank is 3 vertically placed pieces of drift wood and black sand. I will be keeping the tank fairly basic for maintenance purposes as I had recently changed it from a fully planted tank. BTW lighting is 2 hanging 48" GLO dual T5 HO fixtures. Tank is very well fed with feeder rosies as I get an amazing deal through a wholesaler and all fish are in great health with no diseases or problems.

I have a 5" common wolf with my 7"azul and 6"Bahia Kelbs with no problem and they even taught the wolf to eat pellets but i would be careful with the 4" marbled pim. If you get the 7" common wolf there could be a problem so you might be better off with the high fin red wolf. besides the reds dont get as large as the common wolfs do. best of luck to you

the only thing im worried about there is the pbass outgrowing the red wolfs and then they become an expensive snack the pim will grow and a fast rate usually 2"+ a month so he'll be of size in no time

ok so I had a curupira with my bass he was 14" and the bass ranged from 8" to 16". All was fine for a while. then a azul of 12" started with him is my guess. His pec fin was shredded. the wolf didn't kill him but that is an expensive fish to get torn up. I moved him. If you don't mind an occasional incident then go for the mala. It was really cool having him in there and they are much nicer when they swim around. I just can't see a $300+ feeder. I have a thread or two on it around.
