^^ Whats the scientific name? and how Big will it get?

totally agree, can't tell much about the costs because they are vary from place to place, just go around n check their prices in your nearby lfs to get a good deal.

^^ have never seen this species once in my 6 years keeping fish in my area. I do however see the more comon wolf fish at about 15" for about 400-450$. So thats why im really confused? does this guy get worth that much at adult size? even a rough ball park would help :)

These guys are usually about $30-35. "Common Wolf Fish" or Hoplias Malabaricus rarely get to 15 inches, but sometimes do. Also $400-$450 would be WAY overpriced. More like $80 for one that big. Now a Hoplias Aimara @ 15 inches would be about $500.

^^ Hoplias Aimara is probably the one im seeing for so expensive. Thanks for clearing this all up for me!

Whats the growth rate on these guys like? how long do you think it will take till full grown? (assuming diet and water quality is good of course)

Actually a Hoplias Aimara at 15" if not from a hobbyist whom you can work down the price a bit will probably run you closer to $1000.

Figure about an inch, maybe little less a month. in a year should be full grown and very active.
