wondering about ordering stock online?

hey guys im a first timer with online ordering....kinda debating it or not..just read a guy polypterus was doa in shipping... ive heard to use aqua bid? i live in canada.. wondering if theres anything north of the 49th or if it shouldnt matter.. i need ideas to add dither fish in my 90 gallon or another monster so to speak..
i have a senegal bichir 10in male con 6 in femal jag 5 in red tail black shark 4 in clown knife 5in jewel cichlid 4 in and a 12 in pleco...which i plan on putting in my piranha tank, and going with other forms of filter feeders for my 90 gallon.
any tips on dithers for this setup or another add on... i had the rena xp3 ac 70 and penguin 200 for filtration. HEPA 300w heater
 
Ordering from the states is a pain in the ass/Impossible ... i tried for a very long time with out any luck... It was going to cost me 200 -500 bucks just to get them over the border... In terms of an online store in canada... NOTHING... WE HAVE NOTHING haha... Your best bet is to go to your local fish store.. give them 100 bucks and say get me my fish.
 
really ? darrn! i was really hoping it would workout... its impossible to find anything nice where i am, i have to travel at least an hour away, my lfs are alright, but way overpriced, and i sometimes see mislabled fish..or crossbreeds labeled as a pure gene breed... i like monsters and big ciclids.. biggest thing around here is a frontosa..theres tons... kinda boring to me.. ive seen an ornate bichir full grown. same colour as sand blended right in.. for 129..that was in the city though
 
Your going to need a bigger tank for your clown knife in about a year. He'll outgrow your 90 and probably eat your red tail shark in a few months.

i keep him on a live diet, and feed on a very strict schedual red wriggles or feeders.. sometimes he gets ahold of the occasional shrimp
 
Try to convert to dead/frozen foods. Live foods like rosey reds have very little nutritional value, might explain why he hasn't grown much. Also live feeders are prone to disease.

I don't want to sound rude, but just trying to give you some honest advice from expirence with these fish.

I fed my rck talapia, and carnivore sinking pellets. Occassionaly shrimp as I saw he had much harder poops from shrimp so led me to believe it had too much protien for his body to digest.
