Wondering if our Clown Loaches may be trying to spawn?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As time goes on in this hobby more and more fish thought to be impossible to spawn are being spawned. It would seem that in the very near future a home hobbist will spawn the clown loach for a first confirmed time.

It is very possible someone will create the perfect condition for them and may not even be trying to breed them.

No one is saying that it is impossible, just that it is complicated, and thus far it has not happened.

I was talking to my friend the other day. He visited a guy in NY who has successfully bred clown loaches. My friend came home with a couple of small fry. The breeder does not consider his spawns successful because out of thousands of eggs laid, he only ends up with around 10 fry. One day I will go and see for myself.

Who??

I'd imagine the reason we don't see natural spawns are similar to why we see inhibited growth rates in tanks. Too hard to create the full scope of their living/breeding conditions on a home scale.

This project will sadly have to be put on hold as we lost all but 1 of our large CL's.
