Wood as decoration?

I can't remember, are there any species of trees that should not be used as "drift wood" in a tank. I just had a nice ice storm knock down a bunch of tree limbs some of which would go nice in a native fish tank. All I have to do is age them and soak them...but does any one know if there are certain types of wood that would be bad to use?

I don't know. However it would seem that any conifer would be a bad idea. The sap and all........

I would stay away from any, 1) soft wood, 2) live wood or 3) any wood for a species of tree known as poisonous.

You can use soft wood in a tank, but it decays quickly.
