Wood from the creek.. can it be used ?

Hi
Im tired of not finding any driftwood for my tank in the pet stores.
So got out to the creek near me and found these 2 pieces... are they safe to put in my tank after I clean them good and cover tjem in boiling water for a wile ?

Thy will be fine. I did the same with mine but I got mine out of brackish water. I just washed them really good, dried them out, and then put them in.

Lots of threads regarding collecting your own driftwood..

I've always collected my own and prep it by doing nothing more than power washing the pieces off and letting them dry out completely. Just be sure to collect the wood from a relatively clean body of water and not some ditch alongside the road.
