I want to put some drift wood in to one of my tanks. What are some ways to keep them down?

I just let mine soak in the tank and sink on their own. You could put some rocks around them aswell to keep them down until they become waterlogged.

It depends on the shape but if it has a good base you could attache it to a piece of slate. Drill a hole in the slate (requires a special bit), then attach it to the wood with a screw.

Otherwise it will sink once it has absorbed enough water.

Is this wood you found somewhere. Most driftwood you buy in the fish store for fish tanks will self sink. Malaysian, African Root are dense heavy wood that will sink. People have used big rocks to weight wood down. Or tie wrap them to rocks. I seen some silicone to slate.
