Wooden lures

i am wooking on making some wooden lures, but I am wonder what type or sealant to use beside epoxy. Here Is a pic of my prototype.

yes the wood needs to be sealed before I can paint it but I have no Idea of what kind of sealent to use.

polyurethane should work for you, it seals wood very well. Make sure to rough the surface up a little before painting.

why, does that help it to stick?

Yes roughing up the surface helps the paint stick better.

kk thanks for the tip, I know the eyelets will need to be sealed and glued with epoxy same will go for the lip

nail polish clear and colored works very well on home made wooden lures, seals up nice
