i was at my lfs, looking to see if i could trade in my texas, who has gone into breeding overdrive and is driving my poor flowerhorn to drink(metaphorically) with his constant pestering( was gonna just put him in a seperate tank, but when i pulled it out of storage it was cracked,, darn movers) when i came upon .........a 3 inch white oscar!!!!!!!!!!

with 1 tiny orange strip on either side of his belly, no faint squiggle patterns where orange would fill in later, and black/orange mixed tail and fins staring at me from a tank marked !!REDUCED!! thats right,, i got my oscar for 3 dollars.

and picked up a gold severum while i was at it!! so excited...i ended up keeping the texas, too..i need to "cure" his tattered top fin before they lfs will take him(rolls eyes) looks like i'll be pickin up some eggcrate this week and seperating him until he's all healed up.

pics to come once he's setteld in..

they also had blueberry oscars for 9.99 ( pretty color blue, but such a waste.. those poor oscars.. they were already fading back to white) and lemon oscars for 14.99 i only saw one really stunning lemon, bright bright sunshine yellow with black tips, but i only have the space for one more fish right now, and even thats pushing it. i thought it was strange that the lemon oscars were cheaper than the normal tigers they had, and the tigers were only maybe an inch bigger...

can't wait to see your white "O".....

wow, you have quite a selection of O's there. Course those blueberries are such a scam.

But if i saw a lemon i would snatch that up quick. :)

Congrats on your white Oscar. Cant wait to see pics and make sure to keep us updated as he grows with pictures so we can see what he turns into

Can't wait to see pics. Where in Tampa did you find it?

Petmart (no S) on busch and 56th, down the road from busch gardens.. they had at least 8 lemons when i was there saturday if anyones close enough and interested.. my white o was mismarked or something, no reason for him to be marked down now that i'm thinking about it, they had other albino tigers.. hmmmm chargin my camera now, hopefully get some pics tomorrow afternoon or morning during feeding time.. right now he's still alittle shy and wont eat unless i turn the room lights off..

they had a pair of veil tailed ( thats the long tailed ones, right? ) too..labled as just tiger oscars...really made me wish i had a bigger tank..lol here pics of my baby, had to take them quick..they arent that great, my flash died right after the net shot..you can see in the first pic the couple little lines on his belly .. cant wait till my camera charges so i can get a good shot of how pretty his tail is!!

Nice pickup, especially at $3. I think that Oscar will turn out awesome when he gets some size.

I've got a platnium Oscar that is more less white. The only color he has is an orange eye spot on his tail and some black and pink on his fins. When he was 2" he had very faint pale yellow tigar markings. They are gone no at 5" but could return. He's one of my favorites because he looks so different then the rest. That might be what your's is; if so you made out cause I paid $15 for mine at 2"
