State of chaos
the lfs had a a small Killifish, resembling a Flagfish in the feeder tank, but it had barely visible verticle bars. I would rescue it but I'm not sure of the species, might be some species of Pupfish. I only have a 5g available so if it stays under 4'' it will be fine, as I have good filtration. Dont mention being brackish or salt because it is tiny (1'') so obviously it was bred in the feeder pond which is full freshwater. I would keep it in a 2 1/2g container until it grows a little so that its not killed by my Mosquitofish. Please respond soon!
(BTW cant see how it could be a bad deal. Killifish for 11cents!):headbang2

It probably is a flagfish. They are pretty common feeder contaminants. There are some barred Fundulus species as well, which have a much longer lower profile. Buy it and put up some pics.

BTW the chance of it being a pupfish is close to nil.

it doesnt have the "sequen like" patterns of a Florida Flag, which threw me off
ill try but i gotta convince the parents before it gets fed ;)

Young or washed-out fish don't really show the sequins. There's no other fish shaped quite like that, though.

i thought sheepshead minnow, but the dorsal fin is to far back.
tyvm noto :)
the lfs manager said she gets Flags this time of year often.
