BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A £1.00 AND KEPT THE OTHER £2.00 FOR

HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID £9.00 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL

OF £27.00, ADD THE £2.00 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = £29.00

yeah ^. total paid was $32 ($10 each plus $2 "tip" for bellboy). then they got a $3 refund. $32 - $3 = $29.

32? The $2 "tip" came out of the original $30. They each technically paid $9 between the room and tip. The tip is included in that $27. To get the total, you don't add the bellboy's tip of $2, it's already there. You add back the $3 they collectively got as a refund. $27+$3=$30
