Here's what I've got so far.
I Started with a 40 tall and bought some white foam from Michaels- I figure it's easier to work with than the pink insulating foam- Now, I think they both have their pros and cons.
I'm not quite finished yet but I've come a long way this week. After reading a lot of post on sealant, I decided to go with the drylock.
Temporarily, I'm planning on using ornamental fake plants just because it will be a while before I put water in there (I'm still drylocking a few spots.)
I'm pretty excited to get this done but it will be even longer before I dare put fish in there. I think the tank is developing a creepy coolness though and I jsut keep going with it.
In the right corner I'm working on the pond from the filter return.
Beneath the ledge I installed waterproof LED lights (red and green) that turn on by switch.
I'm not sure how the surface background is going to look when I'm finished yet. I do like the sand on the floor of the surface and have a lot of time to add color which this project badly needs.
Here are some pics of where I started and where I'm at. This can;t be an advice thread because it's my first time making one of these.
Eventually, I'd like some mudskippers and bumblebee gobies in there.
