The main aquarium I watch is under our TV in the living room. it's a 75L. It is over crowded with 10 tilapia in it. Frequent water changes to maintain.
I do like the hardiness of the tilapia, but 75 it is too small for 5 males & 5 females. They keep the tank destroyed. Always a lot of action going on. Gills flared, dancing around in circles, mouth open.
Anyway, I am moving all but a male a two females out. (eventually)
I am going to add a black bullhead and a plecostomus. I have a small plecostomus I am currently growing out, so it can go in with the big boys.
I want to add decorations other than gravel and a couple of rocks. I am taking out 3/4 of the gravel so the tilapia can't pile it up 8" tall!
My tank is plain and not much to look at, I just like watching the fish, but the wife likes pretty... Uhhhhh! "NO PINK PLANTS!"
She thinks purple is a reasonable compromise!
So I will be shooting for half pretty, half plain and open.
It will probably be a few months in the making. I need to catch the cat from my pond and grow out the plecostomus. It is just a fry right now.
I have a 250 gallon tote I may set up for the fish I remove.
Comments, taunts and trolls welcomed....

Personally I think adding fish to the 75 after you move the tilapia is a mistake. If it’s a common pleco you have, it will get way too big, bullheads get around a foot I believe. The 250 tote would be better to add to IMO
