was thinking about starting one, was going to pick up a ben with a lid at walmart. shred newspaper and dampen it and throw in some dirt.

primitive set up but should work correct?

can i put both night crawlers and red wrigglers in there? i didn't know if they had different breeding speeds and i was going to let Darwinism do the math for me.

can i add vitamin supplements to the soil to add nutritional value to them, that will carry over to my O that i will be feeding?

Thank you in advance,

i know there are other threads asking questions abt this topic but i wanted to get some specific ones answered

I was thinking about doing this a few months ago and read up on it. Red wigglers multiple fast, Night crawlers don't. You'd have to keep them inside during the cold months and if not maintained correctly can attract insects. This is what kept me from doing it.

Google worm farm and you'll find out everything you need to know.
