I am looking for a better source for earthworms / nightcrawlers in the DC area.

If you are in the area, where do you get yours?

I am getting a bit tired of paying $4 for a dozen at PetsMart, when I need several dozen for each pop.

I would order online, but I do not have a refrig in my dorm, so it is a strictly "take home and use" deal.

Walmart sells them for like 30 pac for 2$ but theres only like 24ish in there.

or you could always breed them

Wal Mart didn't have any last time I was there - not sure if they will restock or not, but thanks for the heads up.

Not gonna breed them. Too busy, and in a dorm room.

mmm. a shovel and an area free of pesticides? most of wisconsin falls into this category, but maybe not DC?

No time to dig... and I need a regular source :)

You should have no trouble keeping a large amount of worms in your dorm without any odor problems (just don't tell the ladies that you have worms). A small tupperware and some moist worm casings/soil and the school newspaper will keep many pounds of worms alive easily.

Three questions:
How do you not have a refrigerator in your dorm?
What do you do with your beer?
How do you have a tank large enough to house such a fish in your dorm?

That second question is a serious one. What kinda schooling do you guys do up there? And yeah you should be able to get some kind of mini fride for the worms AND beer at Walmart for around $5o...

I simply don't have the desire to "worry" about keeping worms alive. I have a lot on my plate as it is, and with all these fish, space is ... let's just say, divided between myself (bed) and them... tanks! (Just a lot of growout tanks, basically)

I have tried to travel as lightly as possible, and so have avoided buying a mini fridge, and as for beer, there's plenty around if I want to grab one.

But seriously though - I'm just looking for a "fast and easy" way to get worms regularly. IE: buying them LOL
