I was wondering what's the possibility of feeding your fish a variation of worms? Like for instance, mealworms and silk worms are very cheap to keep and to cultivate. I've started to feed my tiretrack some mealworms just recently and he loves them. Not so sure about the silk worms though?? What other worms are there that have a good nutritional value for fish and are cheap to cultivate?

Thanx

dig into the redworms and nightcrawlers but im cautious of mealworms. the shell may be hard for some fish to pass. bigger fish im sure will be fine. grubworms are good too but i drown mine, they will bite your fish

I feed my Jardini nightcrawlers daily. He loves them.. I try to find the ones that are not packaged in soil. If I do have to get the dirt packed ones I try to squeeze as much of the "Mud" out of the things before dropping them in the tank.

where do you get your nightcrawlers? Only my bait shop carries those, and it is too far away to go everyday

Cool! But aren't nightcrawlers a little bit too full of mud? Seeing as they eat they tend to consume soil particles as they eat and I've had first hand experience at how much soil they can consume (plz dont ask how i would know that...).

What about silkworms seeing as they are soft outside and full of juice inside?

I used to do that, but way too time consuming.

I go to my quickie mart AND STOCK UP. I spend 20.25$ a week on 9 packages of 24worms,12crawlers, or 15dillies.(2.25$ a piece)

But since the quikie mart wont be carrying the worms all winter i need to go to walmart and spend 2.97$ for 24 crawlers. all works out, but i like the other brand better.

WalMart Supercenters sell nightcrawlers in the fishing department :) Best find I've EVER found there. Make sure you check them before you buy them... not always in good shape. My bichirs love them!
