right now my jag is not accepting any thing to et accept worms, ive tried beefheart and pellets, and nothing seems to work.any suggestions.Should i try raising my own feeders?

how big is he? you can just keep them on worms for abit but i would just let him not eat for say a fews days to a week...then maybe toss in a few pellets to see if he'll eat them...this sometimes works but sometimes it doesn't so just try it out...

hmm, try cuting the worms to about 1" for a while get him use to it then try and mix it up with worms and something like Hikari food sticks, see if u can trick them into eating a cpl, i did this and 1st cpl times they spit out but they will eat one eventually. then just add more food sticks and less worms, that worked for me. but if it doesnt u can try just not feeding and just trying someting else that looks like a worm like food sicks or pellots. all in all every fish is diff so its trial and error. just gotta keep at it and he should switch. good luck

Forget the feeders. As already stated.Just starve him for a few days.Offer him pellets but if he doesn't except them, take them out.Keep offering him them everyday and nothing else.I have yet to see a fish starve itself to death unless it already had something wrong with it.It will take them eventually.

Whatever you do, do it whilst it's still young. It's a real pain in the ass having an older cichlid thats been spoiled on such foods.

I couldn't have said it better myself lol. Hold out too don't give in. Jags can be stubborn. Both of mine chow heartily on pellets and are doing great.
