Canada eh
So I picked up this 180 gal tank that came with a bazillion guppies and I nice 10" Pleco. When I first got the tank it was in incredibly bad condition. The guy I bought it from most likely hasn't serviced the tank in possibly years. There was no heater hooked up amongst other atrocious things. So I picked up a new heater and started feeding them lightly, until I worked them into a full diet. I noticed a few of the fish had dropsy, so I had to dispose of a few of them that were pineconing. I just started to feel comfortable enough to transfer over my main fish to this tank, and just yesterday I saw what looks like little worms on the glass of the tank!! I have treated the tank for a week with paragaurd, an anti parasite med. Not sure if I am losing it or not, but a part of me thinks whatever parasites were in the fish are trying to escape the medication by clinging to the glass. Sounds weird to me but parasites in general are weird. (I think). Don't know much about this and I am sure open to any understanding that any of you know about this. Another theory I have is maybe bloodworms live through being frozen.. ATM I am nervous to add my main fish to this tank. Any thoughts.....

More likely something like detritus worms. Parasitic worms don't attach to the glass.
Ok. Thank you. I looked up detritus worms and found some info. Looks like if that is what these are, they aren't too horrible and I am only seeing them because of low oxygen levels. I will hook up some air stones and see how it goes. Thank you again

stop feeding fish for a week and do 20% WC daily, will get rid of the worms no problem

They are not hard to get rid of long as you do proper water changes and vacuuming and feed no more than than the fish can eat.
Parasitic or harmful worms will not be visible on the gravel or the glass of the aquarium. Noticing small white worms the size of a few millimeters crawling along the glass are either flat orroundworms. Flat appearances are planaria (flatworms) and the more thin and wiggly ones are nematodes (roundworms).

in either case removing there food source by proper aquarium care will reduce/remove the infestation.
