worms swimming in the tank!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi all,
i always tend to get a problem with what looks like lots of little worms swimming around the tank when i keep large catfish!

this time the problem is in with a rtc!

i feed him prawns and other fish base foods!

i did have a problem with the filter for a few days but have now picked up a new one

he is in a 500l tank and 700l filter

why are thay in the tank?
how do i get rig?
any help would be great!

You don't get rid of them, they are planaria and in every tank. What you can do is cut back on feeding (if you're overfeeding) and do more water changes.

^ I agree. Less feeding more water changes. Be sure to do gravel vaccuming everytime you change water.

Ill have to agree with planaria this time, althought thats not always it. The reason you see it with bigger catfish often is becuase of the amount of food they consume and the amount of waste they produce. Planaria arnt harmfull to the tank or fish, they just consume left-over food and look annoying. Cut back on feeding and do a few extra waterchanges and they should slowly disappear.
