I recently had a worm problem in my 35gal growout tank, I treated with Prazi pro a little over a week ago, and yesterday during a waterchange I noticed a few more on the bottom wriggling. The ones i have are white (small ones) long and thin. And the larger ones have a silvery shine to them when they move in the light. My lfs didnt know what they were (suggested glass worms to me) but i dont know anything about worms.

Can someone please give me a quick rundown of the differences in worm species in freshwater aquariums? So hopfuly i can narrow down which ones i have floating around?
I dont know if they're dangerous to my fish or not, and im pretty sure it started from feeders, as im 100% positive im not over feeding.

Tank temp is at 84, do regular 35% waterchanges twice a week, and all tests always come back A-OK but with soft water.

The really tiny white ones can be rectified by a few water changes, maybe clean your filter. The other ones with silver look to them [depending on size] are most likly larve for small flies, do you get small flies buzzing around your tank or floating alive or dead on top of the water. Think white flies, but not sure species. You may not be overfeeding but it all boils down to the water. I sugg carfully cleaning your filter media as not to kill the bactiria and 15-20% water change every few days untill the white worms are gone. Ive had both the white worms are easier to get rid of. The flies are like nats commonly seen buzzing aroud saturated house plants. Small fish will even eat these worms and larve.

I have cleaned my filters on the tank twice this month alone, partly due to the prazi pro. I put sponge filters inside the media slots like i have on all my other tanks. And i dont think its flies as this tank is im my basement and theres no flies in or around the tank. Only bugs iv seen down there are spiders, and they usualy die of hunger lol or from being too cold down there.

The Prazi pro is definatly helping as the population is WAY down, but i still find the odd one kicking around in there.

White ones are planaria, they also live in the gravel may take several cleanings to get rid of them all, they will not harm your fish but they do indicate some sort of decay, i was wrong about the white flies as there larve do not live in water, i have had the silver worms and notices extremely tiny flies and made the assumption. When i had them they were far and few between in comparision to the white ones. I never used any meds but got rid of them with all with cleanings took several weeks., also wont hurt to skipp a day of feeding every know and then during the irradication process.

Well I have no gravel in this tank its a bare bottom and only 3 fake plants for coverage. As for decaying stuff I dont know where it can becomming from. Iv cleaned both filters twice this month and all three plants are rock bass bottom. Ill keep an eye on my situation, but like I said the population is wayy down. So hopfuly it will solve itself in a few days with the meds still in the tank.

Good luck buddy, my fish ended up spawning induced by the water changes, the fry gorged on the worms.

Thanks man, I havnt seen any in about 2-3 days, so im hoping that this issue is nearly solved. I also added some salt hoping it would also have some effect on them.
