In all reality worms of any sort shouldnt be fed soley. Just like feeding Hikari Cichlid Gold as a staple with no variety for an Oscar isn't ideal it's entire life. With the list above, if fed in a variety along with some commercial foods (Hikari, NLS, Omega One, etc.) there isn't a "bad" worm you shouldn't feed.

I'm curious as to what you think is in other foods that isn't provided by a high quality pellet?

I always fed night crawlers and meal worms to my Oscar's as a special treat every 3 to 4 days. It was great to watch my O's eat them as fast as I dropped them into their tanks, the gluttonous things. Knowing they produced as much waste as they eat, their worm intake was limmited to 6 night crawlers and 15 meal worms every other feeding.

I never gave them feeders or fuzzies. I knew that mammal protiens were not good for them. Just never liked or agreed with the idea of giving them feeder fish.

I'm all for a high quality pellet, just meant a variety is key. Feed different kind of pellets instead of just 1 kind it's whole life.

NO mice and i personally feed things off this category: waxworms, bloodworms and mealworms..

I feed my cichlids bloodworms and brime shrimp along with Hikari Bio Gold+....they seem to love it.

Meal/superworms have a hard outer shell (chiton) that is indigestible & will cause serious constipation. They're really not good even for reptiles.
