So today i picked my 90G tank with 48x18x24 dimensions with 8mm glass now the thing is that i am very worried about the glass thickness as i read on many website that 48x18x20 is okay with 6mm glass so keeping that thing in my mind i made this tank with 8mm,but still as the tank is at my home not started yet questions are in my minds how safe it will be should i fill it with 20inch? or 22inch? height i hope this issue can be solved here waiting for the replies

if you dont trust it put it out in the garage and fill it all the way up. tap on the glass and see if it holds.. i built my first experiment tank was about 36x24x24 out of 1/4inch thick glass and i didnt trust it for a while but it held just fine.. the glass even had a little bit of a bow in it when the tank was full (witch was very scary) but it held.. your lucky its only a 90 gallon so its easy to move outside for a few days and fill it up then after a while if you trust it put it in the house

well if ur 36x24x24 work with 1/4 which is 6mm glass then i think mine is okay with 8mm although i will filling it till 22inch height.

Better safe than sorry. I would fill it in the garage and let it sit for a few days at bare minimum.

Good Luck.[/QUOTE
